RULES

1. PPL Main Rules

1.1   Player Eligibility

All players participating must have their Rocket League names on file. This is needed to contact players regarding matches and in case of conflict. In order to participate in PPL, you must meet the following requirements:

–          Your Rocket League account must be in good standing

If you fail to meet these requirements, you will be deemed ineligible to participate.

1.2   Team and Player Names

Team and player information will not be allowed to change once the competition has begun. This includes game accounts and team names. Only registered team members are allowed to play for a team. Playing in any matches with a “ringer” is prohibited. Players and teams must compete under their officially registered Rocket League team names and nicknames during all official matches.

1.3   Roster

Team rosters must consist of at least 3 players and an option of 2 substitutes. Teams are only allowed to play with players on their roster with a registered account. All roster changes must be made prior to the start of a season. Two emergency roster changes may be made per season. Playing with different players and/or illegal ringers will result in punishment.

1.4 Matches

Teams are given seven days to complete their weekly matchup(s). If, by the end of those seven days, a team is unable to complete their matches, then the specified game will be forfeited and counted as a loss for both teams. If evidence can be provided showing that only one team is at fault, the decision will be reviewed and may be reversed.

1.5 Reporting results

In order to report the results of a game, a screenshot MUST be taken of the score screen. Without a screenshot, the matches must be replayed.  There must be a screenshot of each score screen for each game played in the best-of-five. The screenshots are to be sent to {PulsarPremier@gmail.com}. If no scores are reported at the end of the week, the matches will count as losses for both teams.

1.6 Schedule

The schedule that is released in the beginning of the season is set and final. There will be no alterations to the schedule unless approved by PPL managers. Teams are responsible for scheduling their own games, and this can be done using Steam or the website messaging system.  

1.7 Spectators/Shoutcasters

Spectators are forbidden in matches unless both teams agree to allow them. With the exception of this rule, select games will be subject to shoutcasting. Before that series is played, a team may be contacted by a shoutcaster, and accommodations must be made in order to allow the casters to spectate matches.

1.8   Game version

All players must install the newest version of the game in order to participate in the league. Updates must be installed before matches start, so delays will be at a minimum.

1.9   Technical Issues

Teams are responsible for their own technical issues (hardware/internet). A rematch cannot be scheduled because due to technical issues and matches will be played regardless. Both teams may agree to pause the game when these issues arise.

 

1.10   Disqualification

To keep seasons as efficient as possible, PPL reserves the right to disqualify teams. Actions leading to disqualification includes but are not limited to, (1) purposely stalling or attempting to block another team (in some scenarios both teams may be affected), or (2) using a known exploit.  A team using a known exploit forfeits their game on the first occurrence of the exploit. Using a known exploit for a second time, and determined to have been done on purpose, they will be removed from the event and barred from any future events.

 

2. PPL Season Rules

2.1 Match Settings

         Regular Season – Best of 5 / Playoffs – Best of 7

–          Game mode: Private match

–          Team Size: 3v3

–          Match Time: 5 Minutes

–          Default Arena: DFH Stadium

–          Server: North America (US-East)

2.2 Point System

In order to move up the rankings, teams will be awarded points. For winning a match, a team will be awarded three points. For losing a match, a team will lose one point. (Refer to Season 1 Overview)

2.3 Seasonal Playoffs

There will be a seasonal playoffs tournament the week following the conclusion of the 5 weeks for League play. The top 6 teams from the each division will be placed into a single elimination bracket and compete for the first place title.

2.4 Game Preparation

Please resolve any issues that may hinder the playing of a game. Hardware problems may lead to disqualification. Any agreements made between teams prior to a match must be presented by both teams. The game settings must be correct. All players must be eligible.

2.5 Substitutes

Teams are allowed only two substitutes. Players may be switched out between games, but not during them.

2.6 Disconnects

If a player disconnects, the team must continue playing at a disadvantage. Disconnects and lag issues will only qualify for a rematch if the issues occur within the first 30 seconds of the game, and no goals have been scored.

2.7 Forfeits

Participants can choose to forfeit a match if they wish. Doing so will result in the loss of the match.

3. PPL Match rules

3.1 Arenas

“DFH Stadium” will be the default arena for every round. Teams can choose to play a different arena as long as both teams agree. Results will not be overturned because of map selection after a match has already been played, unless the map has a known bug.

3.2 Private Match Create

–          Decide amongst both teams to host the game and choose colors.

–          Host selects → “Play Online” → “Create Private Match”

–          Make sure “Joinable By” option is set to “Name/Password”

–          Host creates a Name & Password (keep it simple) for players to enter

–          Host’s teammates and opposing team select “Play Online” → select “Join Private Match”

–          Players enter the name & password communicated by the host

–          All players must be in the private match lobby before selecting teams

–          Team on the left of the schedule will choose Orange Team, team on the right will choose Blue Team

–          The match will then begin

 

3.3 Rematches

A rematch can only occur with PPL administrative approval. Please contact an admin to receive permission. In a rematch, each participant must choose the same vehicle as they picked at the start of the original match. Disconnects and lag issues will only qualify for a rematch if the issues occur within the first 30 seconds of the game, and no goals have been scored. Matches will not be replayed because of map or team color selection after it has already been played, lest the map has a known bug.

4. Results

Both teams are responsible for sending in match screenshots. These screenshots must consist of the end match score screen. There MUST be a screenshot for each game played.  Results must be submitted after all games have been played. If anything is unclear, participants should have screenshots and replay files available to verify the result.

5. Communication and Support

Please use the email address (PulsarPremier@gmail.com) to contact PPL administration and reach out for support. This is the main communication tool for players to contact PPL administration. The team can also be contacted through the ‘Contact’ tab on the PPL website.

5.1 Admins

All participants must adhere to the decisions and rules of the PPL organizers, admins, and referees. All decisions are final. Conversations, either verbal or written, between organizers, admins, or referees, and participants are confidential. Publicly posting or sharing these conversations with outside parties is strictly forbidden, unless permission is obtained.  Not adhering to the confidentiality rules subjects your team to disqualification.

6. Match Media

All match media (screenshots, replays, etc.) should be kept for at least 14 days. In general, you should send in match media as soon as possible. Faking or manipulating match media is strictly forbidden and will result in severe penalties. Match media should be named clearly based on what it is. It is not possible to protest about bad match media naming. However, if an admin is hindered in their work because of bad match media names then it can be punished.

7. Casting

If your match is being casted by the PPL, please follow instructions given by an admin prior to the match start. These will include:

–          Your lobby name and password, that will also be shared with the casters

–          Team colors, which will remain the same for all games in the match

–          Allowing replays to play out instead of being skipped, for casting purposes
